Soberbio edificio en cuya fachada sobresale la elegante combinación de la cantera y el tezontle, el Palacio de Iturbide es la única residencia palaciega del s. XVIII que fue construida en cuatro niveles.
The Palace of Iturbide, built between 1779 and 1785, is an enormous residential building in the city’s historic center. Built by the Count of San Mateo Valparaíso, he presented to his daughter as a wedding gift. Agustín de Iturbide inhabited the building from 1821 – 1823.
The Palacio de Iturbide is owned by Banamex and has outstanding art exhibitions throughout the year. Admission is free and the Palacio is located just up the street from Sanborn's House of Tiles when heading toward the Zocalo. I live in Oaxaca, Mexico, and frequently visit Mexico City.

El inmueble adquirió fama como el Palacio de Iturbide a partir de que en él habitara Agustín de Iturbide antes de ser coronado Emperador de México, el 15 de mayo de 1822. De 1830 a 1834 fue sede del Colegio de Minería y después albergó locales comerciales y oficinas públicas.
