Mitre Peak Lodge is located around the corner from the Milford Sound jetty and ferry terminal. Literally a very pleasant 5-minute walk and the nearest accommodation to the drop-off cruise/ferry point if you've just walked the Milford Track.
At nearly 1.7kms high, Mitre Peak stands in full view (on clear days at least) from the beach at Milford Sound. Makes for fantastic photos!
4 Ιαν 2021 · We stayed at Mitre Peak Lodge at the last day of our guided Milford Sound hike. The room we had was not only very comfortable and nicely equipped with eco-friendly amenities, we also had a fantastic view of Mitre Peak. To top that, the staff service was pleasant, friendly and efficient.
One of the most photographed scenes in Milford Sound is the view looking out to the iconic Mitre Peak. Named after its resemblance to a bishop’s mitre (head-dress), Mitre Peak is a prominent peak on the south shore of Milford Sound.
