This is the list if you want to sail to Tahiti or another far off place. The Ocean Cruising list can make your dream of sailing in warm tropical waters come true. Many skippers who do long distance cruising look for crew to accompany them to their destinations.
23 Οκτ 2023 · During the California Gold Rush, people flocked to San Francisco and left over one thousand ships abandoned on the shoreline. This caused the water to recede significantly, and today’s city is now built on top of beached ships from nearly 200 years ago.
We do this by making available information about the records, and providing data drawn from crew lists and agreements. Alongside that we provide data and image sets relating to British registered ships aimed at assisting researchers to finding their crew documents.
Three archaeologists—James Allan, James Delgado, and Allen Pastron—consulted on the making of the new shipwreck map, and discoveries by them and their colleagues have added several fascinating details that weren’t on the original buried-ships map created by the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park in 1963 (see below).
