28 Μαρ 2024 · Southwest Airlines passengers are allowed to bring 1 carry-on item with them. This is one bag of an appropriate size that you will bring with you onto the plane. The most common choices are small travel bags or backpacks. However, there are several other items you may bring instead.
27 Μαρ 2024 · Southwest allows bags that are 62 inches in size (length + width + height) and up to 50 pounds. You can even check golf bags and skis, as long as they meet the airline’s specifications. Oversized bags max out at 80 inches, while overweight bags max out at 100 pounds.
If any portion of your itinerary contains an international flight and you plan to check luggage, you will be required to do so at the Southwest Airlines Ticket Counter upon arrival at the airport. You cannot checkin or check luggage at the curbside if traveling on an international itinerary.
A baggage embargo is a restriction that may apply to oversized, overweight, and extra checked bags for select international destinations. Some destinations have year-round restrictions and others have restrictions during summer and holiday travel periods.
