5 Φεβ 2024 · Just as with checking a bag, Spirit Airlines carry-on baggage fees vary flight to flight. In fact, Spirit fees typically cost more for a carry-on bag than to actually check a bigger bag. Generally, you can expect to pay somewhere around $43 each way if you add a carry-on bag at the time of booking.
Current bag prices are available here. One personal item that fits in the smaller sizer box (like a small backpack) is included with your ticket. Another personal item or anything larger like a standard carry-on or checked bag will need to be paid for.

Checking in online at Spirit.com is free, and it's the quickest way to check in for your flight and print your boarding pass. Check-in begins 24 hours before departure and ends an hour prior to departure. This is also a good time to buy a seat assignment or last minute bags – it will be less expensive online than at the airport.
We may require a carry-on bag to travel as a checked bag if it cannot be safely stowed on a particular flight. Checked bags: Maximum of 62 linear inches (length + width + height; 158 cm) including handles and wheels and maximum of 50 pounds (22.6 kg) in weight.
Bags cost more at the airport. Since bags purchased online don’t require assistance from an agent, we pass those savings on to you. If you check in online and purchase your bags in advance (that weigh 50 lbs. or less), you are eligible for our Bag Drop service at the airport.
