This educational experience lasts approximately 70- 90 minutes beginning with a presentation on sea turtle identification, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the hospital facilities and rehabilitation area.

This conservation work for protected sea turtles at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center and on Topsail Island is authorized by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, ES Permit 24ST05.
Guests can overlook eight turtle hospital pools from the Turtle Terrace in front of the main facility. These pools house sick and injured sea turtles, hatchlings and washbacks (recently hatched baby sea turtles that are washed back to shore by rough seas) under rehabilitation.
4 Ιουν 2024 · With the help of many groups, cold stunned sea turtles can be transported to a rehab facility, placed in a dry tub and evaluated for any other existing health concerns. They will be warmed up slowly and, when appropriate, placed in water and closely monitored by rehab staff.
The mission of the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is to conserve and protect all species of marine turtles, both in the water and on the beach.
