You can bring one carry-on bag and one personal item for free on most flights. Carry-on bags Your bag must fit in the overhead bin, so it must be 9 in x 14 in x 22 in (23 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm).
For most domestic flights, Economy passengers are allowed to check one bag weighing up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms) with maximum dimensions of 62 linear inches (length + width + height). Business and First Class passengers are usually allowed two bags with the same weight and size restrictions.

Additionally, it's worth noting there are multiple disclaimers on the United website stating that the airline will only accept extra bags when space is available and that certain destinations, routes and times may have additional restrictions.
5 Ιουλ 2024 · Although United recommends you check its baggage calculator for checked baggage fees, the following costs seem pretty consistent: Economy $35 for domestic flights and to or from Canada ($40) and Mexico.
