Mad Advertising Parodies. Examples of mostly single-page ad parodies and ad campaign parodies -- many occurring on back pages or inside covers. The first 449 regular issues so far -- this page will be an ongoing project this century. If it was possible to do a side-by-side comparison, real ad to Mad ad, it probably made this list.
5 Σεπ 2017 · Unlike TV and movie spoofs, magazine parodies never became a staple of Mad’s editorial mix, and they’ve grown rarer as its target audience drifts away from boring old print. More than half the longer parodies appeared in the 1950s and ’60s, with the most recent in 2001.
A typical issue of Mad magazine will include at least one full parody of a popular movie or television show. The titles are changed to create a play on words; for instance, The Addams Family became The Adnauseum Family. The character names are generally switched in the same fashion.

12 Δεκ 2019 · Last year, Mad (b. 1952) passed Judge (1881-1947) to become the longest-lived U.S. humor magazine, newsstand division. This summer, it announced its October 2019 issue — number 9 of the current series — would be the last to run all-new material.
23 Φεβ 2015 · Flickr user John Schrantz has spent the last several years sifting through his impressive and expansive collection of vintage Mad magazines and scanning its funniest fake ads of that golden era.
With Mad ceasing the regular publication of new material after 2019, including film parodies, in future issues, the magazine's veteran writer Desmond Devlin and caricaturist Tom Richmond announced that they would be teaming up to create Claptrap, a book full of twelve brand new movie parodies done in the classic Mad style.
