The cheapest way to park in Savannah’s Historic District if you are staying for all or most of the day is usually to get a Visitor Parking Pass. The pass allows unlimited parking in city-owned garages (except during special events) and metered spaces with a time limit of more than an hour.
I’m here to give you my favorite tips for finding the easiest and cheapest parking in the Historic District (and beyond). We’ll also cover the location of city parking garages, discuss the city’s parking app, and I’ll even let you know what to do if you get a parking ticket.

Free parking is difficult to come by in Historic District Savannah, where most places to park attract a charge of $1-$2 per hour, whether in its garages and lots or on the street. Parking is typically more expensive north of Liberty Street, with lower prices available further south.
Savannah offers two fare-free shuttles that circle the Historic District on a 10-minute schedule, connecting with the more southerly parking garages and other lots and on-street places to park.
