20 Μαρ 2018 · First two fire ups found oil pressure at 75 psi with no valve noise. Third time firing her up was 18 psi lot of valve tapping. Fourth time oil pressure at 75 psi and falling off to 45 psi with valve noise. Going out on a limb and calling the oil pump unreliable.
21 Μαρ 2018 · Hey guys I have an 06 F150 with a 2 valve 4.6 liter engine that developed a tapping noise. Cluster oil pressure is good. My truck developed a loud ticking on the drivers side and now both sides of engine. Sounds like the valve adjusters and lifters tapping.
1 Ιαν 2017 · Fwiw, whenever I do my oil changes I find that it takes 6.25 quarts to get it to the full line with a filter swap...and that doesn't count whatever oil is left up in the valve train. With my 3V 5.4, I've found that the recommended fill of 7 quarts barely gets it above the add line on the dipstick.
22 Ιουλ 2021 · I have a 4.6L Romeo and I'm getting a ticking noise from the valvetrain on the #4 (passenger side, rearmost) cylinder on my 4.6L. It's an ATK reman and I put it in about 20K miles ago. It's been doing it pretty much since I put the motor in, but has gotten worse.
22 Αυγ 2018 · I use Mobil 1 Synthetic High Mileage (5W/20) and Motorcraft Oil filter FL-820S. I usually can get 6 qts and oil filter for about $35.00
4 Μαρ 2007 · I have a question about lubrication problems on Ford 4.6 engines. I have three Crown Vics and they all have a dry rattle on startup after about 1500 miles on an oil change. This is using Motorcraft 5w20 syn blend and the motorcraft filter.
