The new 4 leaf rear springs and new front springs + 5100 Bilstein shocks = a much improved ride. The springs are stiffer, but the shocks have taken the harshness from the ride.
13 Μαρ 2009 · ReAX is correct, the u-bolts stretch (torque to yield) and are one time use, so please do no reuse them. As for the torque spec... The final spec is 148 lb-ft (200 Nm), but this should be done in 4 stages while using a cross type tightening pattern. The vehicle should also be on the ground and under its own weight while torquing them down.

29 Ιουλ 2017 · U bolt torque spec. You're not supposed to re-use U-bolts as they are designed to stretch for a 1 time use. When I replaced mine with 5/8" U-bolts the torque spec was between 100 and 120, 120 if I used a block taller than stock and 100 if I used a stock block. Still U-bolts are a 1 time use, stock or aftermarket.
Dexter Axle U-Bolt Torque Inspection and Repair When performing warranty or recall service, please make certain that appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used. The remedy is to torque the axle U-bolt nuts in a cross pattern to 110 ft lbs.

Tighten the U-bolt locknuts evenly in 70 Newton metre incre-ments in the proper pattern to achieve uniform bolt tension FRONT and correct (level) position of main support member, spring seat, and axle bottom cap at final torque, See Figure 2.
