TL;DR: Frontier won't let me cancel without a PIN they never sent, keeps billing me, and is adding fake fees.
Having a number that’s one digit away from the correct number that represents itself as customer service when it isn’t seems like an obvious channel for scamming to me. I’m saying I don’t think I am actually at risk in my circumstance but wanted to know if I was missing anything.

Frontier pulling some BS on me at the gate and won’t let me board. Help Needed. DFW-DTW flight was to leave at 2:44 pm. I’m sitting at the gate since 2:30 pm when they make an announcement that the plane interior is hot from inside so all those standing in line stepped back and went to their seats.
Frontier lost my bag flying to Cancun. We had a connecting flight From Baltimore to Tampa and then Tampa to Cancun. We assumed it got mixed up on the way. We filed a claim at the airport and been trying to contact the email and phones numbers they gave with no luck.
However, I have been checking the same flight since, and there are still no other seats booked. Just X's for the seats I chose for my wife and I. The one-way flight I booked from Chicago to Cancun (United Airlines) is halfway full already.
