In ISCED, an education programme is defined as a coherent set or sequence of educational activities or communication designed and organized to achieve pre-determined learning objectives or accomplish a specific set of educational tasks over a sustained period.
An educational programme is defined as a collection of educational activities which are organised to accomplish a pre-determined objective or the completion of a specified set of educational tasks. The term educational activities has a broader meaning than for instance the terms “course” or “class”.
The International Standard Classification of Education ( ISCED 2011 ) provides a comprehensive framework for organising education programmes and qualification by applying uniform and internationally agreed definitions to facilitate comparisons of education systems across countries.
