25 Μαΐ 2012 · I have a GM 8.2 10 bolt 3.08. I see that there are posi carriers available for around $500 to $600. The ring & pinion have been replaced sometime in the past and look good. I recently replaced the spider gears. The axles and bearings look fine.
8 Ιαν 2013 · Wondering how much work it is to convert my 10 bolt 8.2" open diff rear end to a posi? Don't want to spend to much money. It is a daily driver. I can't find any posi units online. Links would be greatly appreciated! Eaton Units are a little expensive, anything cheaper?
4 Φεβ 2011 · It's a bolt-in. In order of importance, as you increase force, you will REQUIRE: over 200 HP............................................posi-traction. over 300 HP............................................bearing cap girdles.
31 Μαρ 2010 · An Eaton Posi will have casting numbers ED32118 for a two series unit (2.73:1 and lower);and EDB30116 for a three series (which accepts a 3.8 to a 4.10 gear) cast onto the carrier. The 10 bolt 8.2 inch center section will have a casting number of 3894859 on the differential case.

15 Ιουν 2014 · If you have the original Traction Lock Posi unit in your Nova with 2.73 gears, you already have a 3 series unit. The part number will be 410408N. The original Traction Lock is a very durable and rebuildable clutch type unit that works with 28 spline axles. This unit was used from 1971 - 1987.
30 Δεκ 2006 · just finished the GM 10-bolt upgrade and threw a richmond gear and an Eaton Posi Differential back there. which gear lube should I use? I still have the C-Clip type axles and axle housing seals.
