What is two-step verification? Two-step verification (sometimes called multi-factor authentication) helps protect you by making it more difficult for someone else to sign in to your Microsoft account. It uses two different forms of identity: your password, and a contact method (also known as security info).
Set up an email address as your verification method. You can follow these steps to add your password reset method. After you've set this up the first time, you can return to the Security info page to add, update, or delete your security information.
Sign in using a text message. Sign in to your account with your username and password. Open the text message and type the code from your text message into the Enter code box. Sign in using a security key at the lock screen. After you've registered your security key, select the security key image from the Windows 10 lock screen.

1 Νοε 2023 · One possible solution is to try resetting your password and then re-enabling 2FA. You can do this by going to account.live.com and following the prompts to reset your password. Once you have reset your password, you can then re-enable 2FA and see if that resolves the issue.
