7 Αυγ 2017 · Some of the issues you're describing were caused by my EGR Valve that failed. I had rough Idle, loss of power, surging at low cruising speed, misfiring, and stalling when accelerating from a stop. However it will eventually throw a P0404 or P0406 for this.
2 Νοε 2017 · The rattle could be in the mains/rod bearings, or valves---being noisy until they get oil---due to oil pump etc issues; hard to say without having the car in front of me and listening to it. Hooking up a mechanical oil pressure test gauge could determine if there is an oil pressure problem.
15 Ιαν 2008 · Most of the issues with the 2.7 come from a lack of proper maintence, not an actual design flaw. I beat the piss out of mine from mile 23 to 60k and it never gave me an issue.
18 Αυγ 2012 · I've spent a considerable amount of time trying to resolve this issue and I'm left with only a few conclusions. 1) A bad Head Gasket, since it is still pushing fluid out when it comes to temp. NO Vapor from tail pipe, and no performance miss in engine, thus I'm not leaning towards this.
7 Μαΐ 2023 · Last owner swapped engine for a Chrysler 300 2.7 V6. Essentially it’s the same engine with small exceptions. Car overheated due to failed waterpump. Replaced Water pump, Timing chain, tensioner, and cam shaft sprockets. After putting it back together it doesn’t start.
10 Νοε 2007 · So if you suspect a 2.7L water pump is failing there will be a trail of coolant outside the block just below the lower radiator hose. The only way coolant could get into the crankcase from the water pump would be from a catastrophic failure such as the pump shaft breaking off.
13 Δεκ 2011 · 99.99999% of all 2.7 failures are caused by the water pump. They are not caused by poor maintenance, although that can be a major contributing factor in speeding the process along. 1. Sludge -- Sludge is caused by coolant leaking internally into the engine, from the water pump.
