Front-Load Washers with the UltraFresh Vent System With OdorBlock™ have a Self Clean wash cycle to clean the basket of residue and odor. This cycle uses more water, in addition to bleach or a washing machine cleaner, to control accumulation of soils and detergent build-up in your Washer.
To clean the interior of the washer, select the SELF CLEAN feature on the control panel. This Self Clean cycle should be performed, at a minimum, once per month or about every 30-40 wash cycles. This cycle will use more water, in addition to bleach, to control the rate at which soils and detergents may accumulate in your washer.
GE Appliances recommends cleaning the washer tub once per month to keep the wash basket fresh and clean. This will help with mold, mildew, or other odors. The process for cleaning a Front Load washer tub is listed below.
