This is the second AGM since I’ve been in this role and the second time we are meeting remotely. But whether we meet in person or virtually, these gatherings are important.
Because demand for energy is so closely linked to human activity, our sector was hit hard. That, in turn, contributed to a steep fall in share values for oil and gas companies, including bp. Within bp itself, our people continue to work under tough Covid restrictions. I want to thank them.
