28 Ιαν 2016 · If it's for a handgun, choose the 6.5 only because they don't have a bigger one. 3.25 MOA is ridiculously small at 50 yards, much less anything closer. I use a 4 MOA Aimpoint on my Bullseye gun at 25 and 50 yards on a gun that will hold a 1.7" 10 shot group at 50 yards. I'd use a bigger dot if Aimpoint made one.
2 Μαΐ 2014 · A 6.5 MOA dot will appear 6.5" in diameter at 100yd. A 3.5 MOA dot will appear 3.5" in diameter at 100yd. For a defensive pistol, many choose the larger dot, since it's easier to pick up, and rarely will you shoot out past 25 yards.

A 4 MOA dot is best for close ranges, while a 2 MOA dot is best for longer ranges. 3 MOA is probably the most popular dot size for both target shooting and self-defense, as the dot is clear, and accuracy is still precise at both close and mid ranges.
7 Νοε 2013 · I like my 6.5 better for pistol. I have it on my tac. I have a 3.5 on my M&P, but you get faster follow up with 6.5. 6.5 is perfect for 0-25 yds. 4 Απρ 2020 · 3.25 is the best overall in my opinion. You can turn the brightness down to get a more refined dot, but when you turn it up, it blooms a bit and gives the appearance of a bigger dot. I found the 6.5 to simply be too large.
