28 Φεβ 2011 · The one piece and two piece full length guide rods are supposed to provide better accuracy, improved reliability, reduce recoil and prevent binding/wear of the recoil spring. I have never seen any evidence that would prove any of these claims.
13 Δεκ 2005 · A 2pc guide rod is full-length and threads together in the middle (supposedly to make disassembly easier). I took my 2pc out and replaced it with what you have in yours. A 2pc FLGR (full length guide rod) requires a allen wrench to assemble/disassemble.
16 Σεπ 2009 · I see on the Springfield Armory loaded 9mm 1911 pistol that it is described as having a 2 piece full length guide rod. What is the difference between a 2 piece guide rod and a 1 piece guide rod and which would be preferable and why ? Thanks.
14 Μαΐ 2009 · I'm going to be putting a heavier recoil spring in my 1911, and figured i might as well do a full length guide rod as well. I know that a 1 piece vs. a 2 piece guide rod affects dissasssembly, but i'm not sure HOW it affects it.
27 Αυγ 2011 · Commander guide rods are 1/2" shorter than GI, as are the plugs. Gov't rod is 1.75" long, Commander is 1.25" long. Gov't plug is 1.5" long, Commander is 1.08" long.

29 Οκτ 2023 · I cleaned up the carry marks and installed a full-length guide rod assembly from EGW - works like a charm and thanks to the piece being stainless, it looks new.
