11 Αυγ 2014 · Powers of Ten – Metric Prefixes. Prefixes for the powers of ten are grouped into sets of three zeros, with smaller increments near the number 1. Scientific notation is a useful means to write out very large or very small numbers using powers of ten and exponents.
13 Ιαν 2010 · In the SI, designations of multiples and subdivision of any unit may be arrived at by combining with the name of the unit the prefixes deka, hecto, and kilo meaning, respectively, 10, 100, and 1000, and deci, centi, and milli, meaning, respectively, one-tenth, one-hundredth, and one-thousandth.
A power of 10 is any of the integer powers of the number ten; in other words, ten multiplied by itself a certain number of times (when the power is a positive integer). By definition, the number one is a power (the zeroth power) of ten. The first few non-negative powers of ten are:
