I'm making this post to briefly teach would-be Terraria server hosts the simple one-time set up of forwarding the port Terraria runs on in your router and allowing anyone to join quickly and easily without any need for Hamachi.
11 Ιαν 2015 · Step #1 - Open Terraria And press "Multiplayer"> "Host and Play"> Pick anything after that of own choice! Step #2 - Go to your Desktop, Press the "Start" Button ( Also known as the "Windows" button ) and type in the "Search bar", "CMD". A black Command Prompt will pop up. Step #3 - Type "ipconfig" in the Prompt, And press enter.
Server without hamachi takes a bit more effort because you need to port forward and setting a static IP is nice too. How it works - You join your server using ip 127.0.0.1 - That's your local host ip.
Forward the port 7777 to your local server's IP. Then external people will be routed there for Terraria connections.
