AirTran seat assignment? I am considering taking AirTran between White Plains and Atlanta. in mid-December. I will be travelling with two young children (6yo and 4yo), so would like to sit together as a family. Now, I understand you can pay $6 and get an early seat assignment, but would airlines generally seat families with young children together?
I just went into AirTran site to select our seat assignment and for the "available seats" there is an additional charge of $6 to $25. We have a change of plane so I am sure there will be a charge for their "available" seats as well.
Enjoy your flight to the fullest by booking the seat you want in advance. Starting at £27, seats can be selected up to 24 hours before departure. But choose yours early to make sure you get the one you really want.
For passengers with Flex tickets the option of choosing a standard seat is free of charge. For passengers with Comfort Flex tickets there is the option of choosing a standard or an upfront seat free of charge (subject to availability).
I've never flown AirTra before, but will be later this year for a trip to Jamaica. I didn't buy a seat assignment yet, as I was just planning in checking in 24 hours in advance and selecting seats. Now I see that for international AirTran flights one must check-in in person at the airport (not online).
