1 Σεπ 2023 · The Milford Track is a 53.5km hike in the South Island of New Zealand from Lake Te Anau through the majestic Fiordland National Park to Milford Sound, one of the natural wonders of the world. The trail was the first inland route to Milford Sound and has been a favourite with hikers for over a century.
The Milford Track starts on Lake Te Anau. From Te Anau, take a bus or private transport to Te Anau Downs (30 minutes), then a boat trip to Glade Wharf at the head of Lake Te Anau (1 hour 15 minutes). The track finishes at Sandfly Point on Milford Sound.

During the summer season, this trip is a 4 days/3 nights package from Lake Te Anau to Milford Sound. The descent from the MacKinnon Pass to the Arthur Valley and Quintin Hut is quite steep and rocky. No camping is permitted.
