21 Φεβ 2024 · The maximum size of a carry-on bag allowed on an American Airlines flight is 22 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches. All carry-on luggage must fit in the sizers available at the airport and/or in the overhead bin or under your seat. Soft-sided garment bags, up to 51 inches, are also allowed as carry-on items.
First Class and Business class also have higher American Airlines checked bag weight allowances, and can check bags up to 70 lbs before overweight charges kick in. International flights in the US and European Union set a maximum weight of 70 lbs for checked luggage, although you may have to pay fees if you exceed the 50 lb limit guideline. Individual airlines can also set lower weight allowances for international checked luggage.
