True to the "same day" part of the name, your new flight (s) must depart the same calendar day as your original flight (s). For example, if you've booked the first flight Tuesday morning, you're only going to be able to change to a later flight on Tuesday.

(Many of the same restrictions apply to the airline's free standby option as well.)
