Oyster Pond is a 208-acre pond located on the Massachusetts island of Martha's Vineyard, in the town of Edgartown. Oyster Pond is situated 2½ miles west of Edgartown Great Pond.
Edgartown Great Pond is an 890 acre (at high water) brackish coastal pond located on the South Shore of Martha’s Vineyard. A thin strip of beach called a “barrier beach” separates the shoreline of the Pond from the Atlantic Ocean.

The town of Edgartown includes the smaller island of Chappaquiddick, sometimes connected to the rest of Martha's Vineyard only by a barrier beach which can be breached during storms. Chappaquiddick is separated from the town center by Edgartown Harbor and Katama Bay.

30 Ιουν 2023 · Cape Poge, (alternative spelling 'Pogue'), is a tidal pond in Edgartown's intermittent island of Chappaquiddick. The pond has a permanent opening to Nantucket Sound through the area known as 'the gut' and also connects to Pocha Pond via 'the lagoon'. It had a Cochlodinium bloom in 2010 (as seen in the above photos).
