A search command is a line of text that you can use to command PowerSchool to perform a search. The search command is comprised of three parts: a field name, a comparator, and a search argument or value. The command line should appear in this format: [field name] [comparator] [search argument].
There are several different ways to search for students and student data in PowerSchool. This document will cover some of the basic search methods to find students who meet certain criteria and to export out student field values.
Use PowerSchool to search for the records of any student who has ever enrolled in your school. You can view the record of a student who has transferred to a new school, dropped out, or otherwise left your school.
The quick student search enables you to quickly search for students by last name, first name, or ID number. You can search for a particular student or a list of students that matches your criteria. Quick search is available on every page of the system.
PowerSchool: Various Student Search Commands. The following student search command examples can be used from the start page in PowerSchool (copy & paste in the blue text shown below). Birthdays (today) *birthday=today Finds all students whose birthday is today, matching only month and day.
You can search for a specific set of students based on the information stored in many of the fields found in a student record, such as Age, Birth date, Gender, names, telephone numbers, geocodes, Ethnic Category, grade level, Student Number, and SSN/SIN.
