1 Ιουλ 2015 · The air-cargo consolidation problem under the pivot-weight scheme (ACPW) is characterized by a pivot weight and two unit costs, respectively, the under-pivot rate and the over-pivot rate. The pivot weight U j is a weight threshold of a ULD, below which the cargo is charged the under-pivot rate.

Simply put, pivot weight refers to the minimum chargeable weight for a specific type of container or Unit Load Device (ULD) used in air cargo. Shipments that fall below the pivot weight for a particular ULD are charged a higher rate per kilogram, known as the under-pivot rate.
1 Ιουλ 2015 · In the international air cargo business, freight is usually consolidated into containers, called Unit Load Devices (ULDs). The transportation charge of a ULD depends on whether the total weight exceeds a certain threshold, called the pivot weight.

Positional weight (pivot weight) is a conditional weight based on ULD (unit load device) dimensions. It is based on the minimum established weight of a ULD and differs from airline to airline.
18 Φεβ 2023 · For each container type, a minimum weight (pivot weight) is taken as a basis, which is charged regardless of the actual weight. If the actual weight is above this minimum, a surcharge per pound or kilo is levied for the difference ( over pivot weight ).
The air freight volumetric weight, or dimensional weight, is an estimated weight value based on a package’s length, width and height. It is a theoretical weight calculated using a minimum air cubic conversion factor chosen by the freight carrier.
