Generally, you can expect to pay somewhere around $43 each way if you add a carry-on bag at the time of booking.

Spirit says the bag can be up to 22 inches by 18 inches by 10 inches, which is a bit bigger than what United allows. The best way to figure out how much a carry-on bag will cost on your Spirit flight is to use the "Spirit Bag-O-Tron."

If your personal item can fit under the seat in front of you without spilling into the aisle or the area beneath your feet, you will not need to pay a fee to bring it on board.
