  4. 4 Μαρ 2012 · It's recommended to find a 1.6 and run that. Any parts you may need should swap over. 1.5's are more prone to cracked blocks than any of them. Even the early 11mm head 1.6's kinda suck, but there are a lot of them still around - cheap. The good ones have the 12mm head bolts, so they say, like '83+.

  6. 28 Σεπ 2014 · Yes the EGR cooler is the only major issue I know of with the 1.6 and 2.0 CR TDI. I strongly recommend you watch the Youtube video below, it is highly enlightening and from my knowledge quite accurate… also bloody annoying!

  7. 1 Οκτ 2015 · Short answer to your all described problems: update the ECU software. I had exactly same symptoms and more. You need to get version 9971 or 9972. I've heard that 9973 is also available but not 100% sure. The software is major improvement. Pay money to the dealer to have the software flashed. However, be careful.
