24 Φεβ 2018 · Yet, from the very outset, Islam established the rights of women based upon their role in society and keeping their best interests at heart. Certainly, the rights afforded by Islam are based on wisdom and human nature.
Until the period of the rise of Islam, there were many ideas of certain actions and behaviors of women that should be expected that were considered traditional gender roles. Women were seen as inferior to men, and women were supposed to behave and respect men.
In this volume, we seek to examine the state of empowerment of Muslim women, what role religion, versus other factors, plays in determining that status.
