You need at least 6 paradox, 8 max. Pick the champ you'll fight kang with, build 8 paradox and quit out. Then finish the path with anyone else. Then at Kang revive your designated champ
Now that I have explored, this node, if set up right makes Kang easiest as you get a massive fury and melt him even outside the wounded phases I would suggest getting NF if you have him to 8 paradox charges (quite the fight if necessary) and only use him on Kang.
