I was taught: do the parentheses first, then divide/multiply from left to right. So you get 3in parentheses, then divide 6/2 and multiply that answer by 3. 🤷🏻♀️. After the parentheses it turns into 6 \ 2 * 3. 1.
Juxtaposition is used as a shorthand for multiplication, but can also be thought of as distribution across a parenthases. Because of this, it is up to interpretation as to whether 2(1+2) can be thought of as grouped together or not, thus resulting in either being interpreted as 6/(2(1+2)) or (6/2)(1+2).
