Yuying Secondary (Chinese: 育英中学) was founded by the Hainanese Community in 1910 as a Chinese medium high school. Today, it follows the mainstream public education system and offers the Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘O’ and ‘N’ Levels. It also uses a full English curriculum, except for foreign or mother tongue languages.
2024 promises to be another exciting year for the Yuying Secondary School community. Guided by our school motto, ‘ Together, Achieve Personal Excellence’, we will continue to stay true to our mission of nurturing a curiosity to learn and a heart to serve in every Yuying Eagle.
School Philosophy, Culture and Ethos. Founded in 1910, Yuying Secondary School is a government-aided school steeped in history, culture and tradition. The school believes in providing a positive learning environment to develop skills and competencies necessary for students to be future-ready.
Yuying Secondary School was founded by the Hainanese Community in 1910 as a Chinese-medium high school. At that time, it was located at Prinsep Street and named Yock Eng High School. The school began with an enrolment of only 15 students.
