  4. 15 Ιαν 2008 · I've read about that problem on the 2.7 engines. Seems that the oil passage is too narrow and the oil cooks up in the passage and gunk starts to collect in there.

  5. 27 Οκτ 2009 · 1. Sludge -- Sludge is caused by coolant leaking internally into the engine, from the water pump. The pump begins seeping, and being an internally mounted pump, it goes right into the oil, via the timing chain housing. Over time the coolant mixing with the oil causes the sludge.

  6. 17 Φεβ 2007 · There is probably oil in the coolant, which means there is a leak somewhere, water pump, head gasket, etc. Its probably also sludged up, and may need a timing chain and guides. Check out this thread. It is a good option for replacing the engine, and is cheaper and more reliable than getting another 2.7. Dan C.

  7. 5 Μαρ 2011 · The only symptom that I can physically detect is a slight hesitation when you punch the throttle. The Actron code reader says that the #1 fix for this is the Oxygen Sensor, followed by replacing the PCM.
