You did not talk to real Expedia customer support. An actual travel service does not hire people to make bogus purchases of buy flight tickets. The language in the messages is standard scammer gibberish.

Called Expedia, spoke to a guy for about an hour, found out my connecting flight changed the arrival time by 11 minutes. There's gotta be a better way for them to address it when that happens. 😑
18 Απρ 2024 · Essentially, the accomodation's computers/account passwords have been hacked, and the scammers are using the website chat system to fake being the hotel to scam the end customers like yourself. As others have said, you should have known by looking at the link and seeing it was fake.
