The thing to note about Expedia is that they do not qualify the companies that advertise on them and there are a lot of scam companies like Zezgo. So you get price comparisons on the platform, but the cheapest companies are scam ones that steal in the end.
The words "fully refundable" featured prominently on the "review fare" page leading to payment on the Expedia app, and I took a screenshot. After paying, I even called United Airlines to confirm that the ticket is fully refundable.
Expedia gave me a bargain fare for $196... I decided to go for it and it gave me a early morning flight non-stop which was great because that was exactly what I was looking for. I was flying from ORD (chicago) to LAX (los angeles).
I know this is an old thread, but I just had the same thing happen to me and Google it to make sure it wasn't a scam. Found this thread and felt safe enough. Called Expedia, spoke to a guy for about an hour, found out my connecting flight changed the arrival time by 11 minutes.
