I had an issue with AA/Qatar airways last month and just kept ending the chat. Both AA and QA just kept telling me to talk to the other. Finally found a rockstar that without prompting just reached out to QA and fixed it. Regarding wait times I always. Get in a physical airport line, start the chat, and get in the phone call “line”.

There is no number to call. Customer Relations is not a call center. Usually, there's far too much research to be done on a particular claim to make a call center environment efficient. You can request a call in your submission, however it's never a guarantee.
I called the main AA customer service number and they just sent me back to the representative who is supposed to be assigned to me, and then they hung up the phone before I could ask for further help. Does anyone have suggestions for a phone number to reach someone who will actually help me?

I tried a different phone number and had some better luck. I wasn’t able to speak to representative yet since a lot of people are trying to call in, but I was able to schedule a call back. Try calling 800-222-2377.
The best service at American is the ConciergeKey help desk, but yes, customer relations takes a while to reply
