If you are traveling internationally, please review our recommended international check-in requirements. Bags may be added to your reservation at the time of check-in. However, checked bags will not be accepted at the airport more than 6 hours prior to scheduled departure time.
Check-in Time Requirements. Check-in Times at International Airports. When you’re traveling outside of the United States, we suggest arriving at least 3 hours prior to your departure. You must be checked in at least 1 hour before your scheduled departure.
The time a bag takes to arrive at the baggage claim is measured by Delta's baggage tracking system, where available. If the time elapsed between aircraft door open and delivery of the bag to the baggage claim carousel is longer than 20 minutes, the customer is eligible to earn 2,500 miles.
