For domestic travel between points within the United States (except for domestic portions of interna tional journeys), United’s liability for loss of, damage to, or delay in delivery of a passenger’s checked baggage is limited to $3,500 per ticketed passenger, unless a higher value is declared in advance and appropriate charges are paid.

The maximum size of a checked bag can be 30 in x 20 in x 12 in (76 cm x 52 cm x 30 cm) or 62 total in., including handles and wheels. International checked bag limits. Some places outside of the U.S. have their own limits for checked bags. If you are flying to, from, or through these places, you can only check oversized, overweight and extra bags if you follow certain rules. These international embargoes can change without notice.
