A long, rambling gateway into the eastern side of Glacier Peak Wilderness, the Entiat River Trail culminates at its namesake glacier with Mount Maude, Seven Fingered Jack and Mount Fernow towering above. Ravaged by wildfires over the years, the majority of the trail is exposed, dry and dusty.
The map shows a route from Grand Coulee all the way to a forest road starting in Entiat. Not counting the forest road, Grand Coulee to Entiat is roughly 100 miles. The description only claims a 20 mile route.
For a super-scenic drive, just off the byway, head up the Entiat River Road. Traveling toward Chelan from Wenatchee, turn left (west) onto Highway 19 where the Entiat River converges with the Columbia River. Settle in for big valley views and watch for wildlife. Deer are abundant here!
Explore this 32.8-mile out-and-back trail near Entiat, Washington. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 17 h 11 min to complete. This trail is great for backpacking, camping, and hiking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring.
Traveling 100 miles from Walla Walla to Wenatchee, the Entiat River Road Washington will take you through some of Washington’s cutest small towns. Or you can choose a smaller 60 mile section of the highway that travels from Entiat to Silver Falls Campground for slightly more manageable drive.
The vast flowerfield expanse of Entiat Meadows under the glaciers of Seven Fingered Jack, Mount Fernow and Mount Maude are reached via the 14.7 mile (each way) Entiat River Trail (No. 1400). Great camps can be found near the junction of the Snow Brushy Creek Trail (No. 1230) around mile 6.
