I personally have no problems booking from Expedia, Orbitz or Priceline if there's a decent saving to be made (usually there isn't on the routes I fly). Many of the other sites you mention (kayak, skyscanner, momondo) are price comparison sites that do no sell tickets.
Find flights. Compare and book flydubai: See traveler reviews and find great flight deals for flydubai.
I'd say they're one of the best 3rd party booking sites around. When you get your eticket, make sure to confirm the booking with the airline just in case and don't rely on Expedia to inform of any schedule changes.
I booked similar tickets in 2014 with Air Berlin (enough said), and I was planning on doing so for next year with NorAir. Straight from the airline, without brokers like Expedia in between. Edited: 4 years ago
Also, which airlines are Expedia showing? It can sometimes be possible to get a better price by booking directly on an airline website of an airline in the same airline alliance yet not one you fly on.
It is generally preferable to book directly with the airline (as that makes you the airline's customer rather than a customer of your travel agent), but - based on my own experience - I doubt you would be able to book this itinerary online on the airline's web site. I had planned to buy the tickets from Norwegian Air, but it seems that airline may be in a bit of trouble. I looked on Expedia and this trip sells for under $800 in May 2019.
