Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 2:1-20. Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem was a miraculous event – witnessed by angels, the simple shepherds, and the noble, seeking wise men. The secret scene in the manger was kept for those who were watching and hoping for the Savior.

Matthew then breezily tells us that Jesus was born in Bethlehem, and the ‘wise men from the east’ (no mention of their number) came to worship the baby. After this, Matthew turns his attention to the actions of Herod when he discovers the Messiah has been born in his city.
With the birth of Jesus, God became a man to walk among us and to be our savior. Prophesies about the birth of Jesus go all the way back to Genesis. Also, according to prophesy, Jesus would be born in Bethlehem, a small town of the city of David (Micah 5:2).
