Current bag prices are available here. One personal item that fits in the smaller sizer box (like a small backpack) is included with your ticket. Another personal item or anything larger like a standard carry-on or checked bag will need to be paid for.
Use your confirmation code to manage your trip, check in for your flight, get your boarding pass and check bags or when making changes to your flight. If you’re an AAdvantage member, log in to view and manage your upcoming trip and use your saved information.
Bags purchased within 24 hours prior to departure will be charged at the online check-in rate, so buy bags early and save major moola. If you don’t check in online, our kiosks at the airport are self-serve and easy to use. Some Guests may not be able to complete check-in online (see below).
If you are accessing your reservation less than 24 hours prior to departure, simply go to the Online Check-in tab and follow the instructions to access your reservation. You can then click the "Add Bags" link to purchase additional bags.
If you check in online and purchase your bags in advance (that weigh 50 lbs. or less), you are eligible for our Bag Drop service at the airport. PRO TIP: If you are traveling internationally, you'll be required to enter your passport information before buying any bags or seats and printing your boarding pass.
