Mono tests are used to help diagnose a mono infection. Your provider may use a monospot to get fast results. Results are usually ready within an hour. The mono-test (mononuclear test) is a test that quickly detects heterophilic antibodies (adhesins). The positive result in the mono-test with concomitant clinical and / or hematologic findings confirms the diagnosis of infectious mononucleosis.
