To convert a decimal number to scientific notation, move the decimal point to the left or right so that there is only one non-zero digit before it. Then, multiply or divide the number by 10, as many times as the decimal point was moved.
To divide numbers in scientific notation, separate the powers of 10 and digits. Divide the digits normally and subtract the exponents of the powers of 10.
