25 Σεπ 2024 · To help prevent or manage prostate cancer, your best bet is a heart-healthy diet rich in cooked tomatoes, cruciferous vegetables, berries, fatty fish, coffee and green tea.
Many men want to know if any foods, or a particular diet, can help or even cure prostate cancer. But until there’s more evidence that any individual food has an effect, it’s best to have a balanced diet, including lots of fruit and vegetables and a wide range of other healthy foods.
Just a few simple changes in your daily eating habits can help support healthier living as you recover from prostate cancer, and may even decrease risk of your cancer coming back or getting worse. All of these recommendations also apply to maintaining overall health, for you and your family.
While those findings are encouraging enough, we’ve also found an association between plant-based eating with better quality of life among prostate cancer survivors. Among patients treated for prostate cancer, we reported higher quality-of-life scores for sexual function, urinary function, and hormonal vitality among those eating the most plant-based and the least animal-based food.
Limited RCT evidence suggests a clinically significant benefit for guided imagery/progressive muscle relaxation, Pilates, and lycopene-rich diets and a modest benefit for green tea, qigong, massage, and avoidance of nonprescribed vitamin and mineral supplements.
