My 5C drive tires are under the lowest weight in the Firestone load/PSI chart for the 12R-22.5's I have, which are H rated. That load chart implies that the 11R-22.5 will need between 10 and 15 PSI more to carry the same load as a 12R-22.5, which will have an impact on ride quality and handling.
I think Beaver Coach lines used 11R-22.5 tires. I can live with it because the GPS gives me the accurate speed over the ground and that's what I go by and transpose that to RPM's. I drive my bus by the Tach...but that's another story.
26 Ιουλ 2009 · I recently purchased 8 new drive tires size 11R22.5. My steers are 295/75R22.5. Just wondering if I should have gone with low profile on the drives also. Needed tires bad and got a good deal on the set but I'm wondering if I should have the 11Rs all around. Thanks.
It is the tire that is replacing the 12R-22.5. In high speed use, you can get the tire up to 18,000lb for steering and up to 20,000lb with a 55mph limit. Personally, my 11R-24.5 16 ply tires are a big overkill on my bus.
23 Ιουν 2009 · I was wondering if you had to change rim sizes if you upgraded from a 11R22.5 tire to a 12R22.5 tire on a truck? Any advice? What size are your rims? Usually 11R22.5 is on a 8.25" wide rim, and a 12R22.5 is on a 9" rim. I think they are 8.25s. I never realized 12R22.5 were on a different rim...
21 Μαΐ 2012 · The rating on 315's is way above my needs since I only have a 34' coach with (scale weight) 5100# each on the front wheels and 4800# each on the rear. That provides over 1000# of excess load capacity per tire with the 11R's. They are 1 1/4" shorter in diameter and 9/16" narrower than 12R's, which I doubt would be all that noticable.
23 Φεβ 2018 · Low pros are a company tire. Tall Tires are what most owner operators run. Low-profile casings are worth nothing to Trade in. Tall ones are usually worth 75 bucks.
