28 Δεκ 2006 · The F150 is an excellent motor. The TLRD is a 2005 20 inch shaft length. Starting in 2006 Yamaha dropped the last letter in model number which is the year code. The TXR could be a 2006 or 2007 motor with 25 inch shaft length, would need serial number to determine manufactured date.

Whilst knowing the horse power and year is great information, with the newest Yamaha variants the most important information is the model code for the motor. If all else fails, Yamaha stamps/engraves the six/seven digit codes which is part of the serial number into the block.

To find your Yamaha outboard’s year and model number, locate the identification plate or sticker on the transom mounting bracket. The ID plate/sticker should be somewhere above the waterline on either the port or starboard side of the bracket.
